Lexington is proud to announce its new Autism Movement Therapy and Creative Movement program for children on the Spectrum.
Autism Movement Therapy (AMT) is a six week program that combines sensory integration with a “whole brain” approach for individuals with autism and related disabilities. AMT uses movement and music along with positive behavior support strategies to help children or adults with autism spectrum disorders to improve behavioral, emotional, emotional, academic, and social and communication skills. AMT can also benefit others with intellectual disabilities, attention deficit disorder, and social/behavioral concerns. The program was developed by Joanna Lara, who holds a masters in Special Education and a B.A. in Dance, and is the Director of the behavioral ABA branch of Autism Movement Therapy.
